Scubapro has quite a number of new and updated products being rolled out for 2019, the first of which to arrive is the new Nova light products. As with previous years the torches get steadily more powerful as technology improves so this year we have a Nova 250 delivering 250 lumen in a compact pocket size housing and then the bigger Nova 850 which delivers 850 lumen and is available in either a longer standard model powered by disposable or rechargeable C Type batteries or a shorter rechargeable 'R' version, both variants can be purchased with either a narrow 8° or wide 80° beam angle head.
Nova 250
The Nova 250 is handy little dive light that can be stored in even the smallest BCD pocket. It features a stylish aluminium body rated to 150m, 250 lumen at maximum output and an easy to use push button on the end of the torch that turns the torch on/off and switches between the 100%, 50% and flash modes. It is powered by one CR123A battery (rechargeable or disposable, neither are included) and has a burn time of up to 5 hours.
Nova 850
The Nova 850 is the new flagship dive torch from Scubapro. It comes in two variants, narrow and wide, with both delivering 850 lumen. The narrow model emits an intense 8° beam that is great for piercing through murky water whilst the wide option emits a smooth 80° beam that is better at lighting larger spaces.
The Nova 850 is machined from heavy-duty aluminium and finished with a matte black coating so is, lightweight, built to last and stylish. It’s also easy to use with a simple push button on the end of the torch that turns the light on/off and switches between 50%, 100% and flash modes.
The Nova 850 is powered with three disposable or rechargeable C-type batteries (not included) which provide up to 2 hours of burn time at maximum output.
Nova 850R
The Nova 850R is a modified version of the standard 850 but is powered by a Xtar 18650 rechargeable battery to deliver the same 850 lumen and still providing up to 2 hours of burn time. There is also the choice between the 8° tight beam and the 80° wide beam as per the standard 850.
The model we stock is supplied with a battery and mini charger for convenient charging. The 850R is significantly shorter than the standard model by approximately 100mm depending on whether to have the narrow or wide model. All other functions, features and specifications are the same.
