Suunto EON Core Dive Computer

The Suunto EON Core is the latest dive computer to join the elite ranks of Suunto's diverse range of dive computers, bringing many of the features found in the premium EON Steel but in a smaller and lighter format. Smaller and lighter it may be, but it doesn't lack in capability with Air, Nitrox, Gauge, Trimix and CCR dive modes which use the Suunto Fused RGBM decompression model.

The EON Core is compact and comfortable to use. Much of the size difference between the EON Core and Steel is to do with the thinner and lighter reinforced composite housing that has a depth rating of 80m, more than ample for recreational divers. The three push buttons have also been moved to the side of the computer to make the EON Core fit better on the wrist for divers wearing thinner wetsuits or rash guards. Whilst the Eon Core is fitted with an elastomer strap it is also supplied with a bungee strap kit.

The EON Core still features a straightforward and easy-to-read full-colour LED-backlit display that features customisable screens with four pre-configured display modes that provide large digits and dive information. The screen automatically rotates depending on the orientation of the dive computer. The screen also makes excellent use of the 3D tilt-compensating compass that makes navigation so simple.

The Suunto Eon Core uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides 10 to 20 hours of diving from a full charge. Charging is kept simple and can be recharged from any USB socket with varying speeds depending on the port output. The Eon Core supports wireless air integration and is capable of pairing with up to 10 Tank Pods.

The Core can also be connected to a PC / Mac using Suunto Dive Manager for data transfer and software updates or to a smart device via Bluetooth for dive profile synchronisation using the Suunto Movescount app.
