Fourth Element Polartec® Powerstretch® Fabric Technology
Xerotherm is the ultimate baselayer for use under a drysuit. Crafted with Polartec® Powerstretch® fabric originally developed for NASA, the Xerotherm traps a layer of air, providing superior insulation compared to water next to the skin, ensuring the wearer stays drier and more comfortable. Designed for versatility, it can be worn under another undersuit or on its own beneath a neoprene drysuit.
The unique knit of the Xerotherm fabric delivers the fastest wicking effect in the entire Fourth Element product range. Moisture is efficiently drawn out through the fabric along fine fibers and dispersed over the outer surface, maintaining a thin layer of insulating air next to the skin. This feature is so effective that some users report minor suit leaks going unnoticed during dives until afterward.
Doug Allan, the world-renowned and award-winning underwater filmmaker and author, praised the Xerotherm's performance as "superb" after testing it in -2 degree (29F) water within the Arctic Circle in Svalbard while filming for the BBC's The Blue Planet.
The Xerotherm is trusted and specified by elite teams such as the FBI Dive Teams, Norwegian Navy, and British Police Diving Units, underscoring its reliability and effectiveness.
