The 1st stage of the Apeks MTX-RC 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Regulator is indeed a sight to behold. Its brass body is coated with DLC (Dimond Like Coating) and PVD, enhancing its durability and aesthetic appeal. The inclusion of heat-exchanging ribs ensures maximum thermal performance under diverse diving conditions. The innovative over-moulded first-stage endcap and environmental diaphragm are designed to prevent ice build-up that could potentially cause first stage freezing in extreme circumstances. They also protect the first stage from any impact damage. The ribbed diaphragm clamp further improves heat exchange in cold water conditions.
This regulator boasts a unique over-balanced diaphragm design. As the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a faster rate than the ambient. This results in superior performance at depth. It features 5 medium pressure ports with 4 mounted on a rotating turret for improved hose orientation, 2 angled high pressure ports for optimal hose routing and transmitter fitting, and a double swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
The regulator is effortless to handle with an easy-to-grip DIN hand-wheel or over-moulded yoke hand-wheel. It is available in DIN- 300bar and INT- 232bar. It has been tested for Octopus use - EN250A to 60 meters in cold water. It is also Oxygen compatible – up to 40% O2 outside the EU (European Union).

A patented heat exchanger effectively dissolves the chill caused by gas expansion, drawing in the ambient water's warmth to provide more comfortable breathing.
The device also includes an innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE), which allows the diver to switch between a small and a large exhaust tee. Comfort is further enhanced with the comfo-bite mouthpiece and a flexible nylon braided hose that performs better in cold water compared to traditional rubber hoses.
